GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

COMPETITION GUIDELINES

 

CATEGORY: TWO-DIMENSIONAL WORK

 

ELIGIBILITY OF ENTRANT

  1. Open to all Bulakenyo artists — those born in Bulacan or residing here for at least one year.

  2. Must be 18 years old and above (as of September 8, 2025).

  3. These sessions are meant to nurture talent, build camaraderie, and inspire artists from the masters. Participants who have pre-registered and attended the official art talks and workshops shall be entitled to join the competition.

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS

  1. The subject should revolve around the theme: “Ikapati: Cultivating the Land.” Artists are invited to honor the spirit of the farmer, the tiller, and the everyday life of our people.

  2. Entries must be original works. Photo references or studies used in the process should be submitted for transparency and to uphold artistic integrity.

  3. Specification of the artwork:

  • Allowed mediums: oil, acrylic, watercolor, oil pastel, graphite/charcoal, and mixed media/multimedia (not exceeding 1-inch depth).

  • Supports: canvas, wood panel, paper board, or watercolor paper.

  • Size: 24” x 36” (portrait or landscape).

  • Weight: max. 15 kg including frame/support.

  • Works on paper/board must be framed; canvases should be ready for hanging.

  1. Artwork must remain unsigned until after the judging to ensure fairness.

 

SUBMISSION AND IMPORTANT DATES

  1. Pre-registration deadline: October 4, 2025 (via Museo ng Baliwag office, email, or Google Form).

  2. Art talks & workshops: October 11, 2025 (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) — a full day of inspiration, exchange, and immersion, including a visit to Baliwag’s rice fields, where artists may begin their studies. As Amorsolo once said, “Art must breathe life,” and this day is meant to give artists that breath of inspiration.

  3. Deadline for finished artworks: November 27, 2025, 5:00 PM at Museo ng Baliwag (Baliwag Business Center Complex, Pagala, Baliwag City).

 

AWARDS AND PRIZES

  • First Prize: Php 50,000.00 + trophy

  • Second Prize: Php 30,000.00 + trophy

  • Third Prize: Php 20,000.00 + trophy

  • Special Award: Fernando C. Amorsolo Art Foundation (FCAAF) Scholarship Grant

(Open to student participants only, to be chosen by FCAAF)

 

OTHER RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. There is no registration fee. Artists shall provide their own materials and transport. Organizers will care for artworks once received.

  2. Requirements:

    • Completed registration form

    • Valid ID (birthdate and residence)

  3. Maximum of 100 participants. Secure your slot early and don’t miss the art talks and workshops.

  4. All artworks will form part of the exhibition, a collective light that shines Bulacan artistry to the world.

  5. Winning entries will become part of the Museo ng Baliwag and/or the organizer’s collection. Organizers retain the right to use, display, or publish winning works for cultural and educational purposes, ensuring the art continues to inspire. The organizers may acquire other entries through mutual agreement with the artist.

  6. Organizers reserve the right to withdraw awards if rules are violated (e.g., plagiarism, falsification).

  7. In compliance with the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173), entrants consent to the use of their name, artwork, and profile for promotional and educational purposes.

  8. Artworks must be claimed within one (1) month after the exhibition. Beyond this period, unclaimed works will become the property of the organizers, who may dispose of them for cultural or fundraising purposes.

 

This competition is more than a contest. It is a gathering of light and vision, a chance to honor the fields, faces, and stories of Bulacan, and to continue the legacy of masters like Fernando Amorsolo, who believed art should reflect the beauty and soul of the Filipino people.
