Brief Description
One of the two existing brass bands that were established in the early 20th century.
Significance
Banda Baliwag was formed by maestro Lucino Buenaventura in 1896. Lucino Buenaventura composed JocelynangBaliwag with the help of the members of the band in circa 1905. Around 1918, Lucino’s son Feliciano Buenaventura, popularly referred to as Maestro Anong, started to manage the band and renamed it to Banda Buenaventura. In 1976, Maestro Anong passed to his son Primitivo the management of the band. It is currently managed by Eric Buenaventura.
